Prepare yourself for a really long post cause this was a really big wedding. I started the day shooting the guys getting ready at the hotel around 7am, Steph had already been at Yvonne's making the girls look fab. The ceremony was at the always beautiful Sun Yat Sen Gardens in Chinatown. We shot pictures of the wedding party in and around some of their favourite place in Vancouver before a traditional Chinese celebration at Shun Feng Seafood Restaurant in Richmond.
I have to start with this shot of Dave and Yvonne. It is one of my absolute favorite images from this summer of weddings. Some images just need to be cropped and this one was all about square.
Here are the rest of my fav images of the day.
Yvonne in the mirror, just before the guys show up.
The guys had to eat and drink some disgusting stuff as well as pay money and endure a little body hair removal to get in the door. I must say that Dave's friends are a little better than mine. Can't imagine what it would take to have my bud's fully dressed in a suit and ready to eat lemons and get waxed at 8 in the morning.
Some detail shots of the bridal gifts and flowers.
The ring exchange.
The first kiss, they weren't kidding around.
After the formals we shot some of the wedding party and just Dave and Yvonne on the grounds.
Probably my second favourite shot of the day. Pure sweetness.
A cute set that was not posed as I ran from one location and caught this special moment.
I love kissing shots, can't ya tell? It doesn't hurt when you have some classic chinese architecture to frame the newly married couple with.
Here are a few shots of everyone having a good time. It can't be all kisses and romance.
This was the school when everyone in the wedding pary went to school except Dave. He went to the rival school down the street. High school sweethearts that went to the rival elemantary school's, almost to cute to believe.
We captured some great shots on the aquabus.
A view of Vancouver I have'nt captured before. Usually I like warm tones but for this image I just love the way the cool tones looked.
Da da da da daaaa, I'm lovin it. A mid day refuel at Mickey D's led to a scrumptious ring shot.
A few amazing portraits of the glowing couple.
Some detail shots of the reception. Love the vibrant red and gold.
I might by looking for a new job in about 10 years. Check out these cameras, they aren't what I would call kid friendly and these little guys are nailing sweet shots.
Instead of the traditional clinking of the glasses they picked names of couples present and had to imitate their kiss. Yvonne got to dip Dave for once.
The first dance, these guys really know how to move.
Some of their friends partying like rock stars.
One last shot from the first dance, a great image to end a great day.
These are some of the most beautiful wedding photos I have ever seen!! I went to high school with this gang and it is so wonderful to "see" them all again from a few thousand miles away. Love the texture in the Vancouver shot as well as the one behind the grass.
Congrats Dave and Yvonne!

Hi,
I just wanted to say that I love your blog.
As a bride-to-be on a tight budget, I recently discovered an online bridal jewelry store called GlamForLess.com.
Though their website is plain and simple, I found some great deals on jewelry sets for me and my bridesmaids.
I think other readers on a tight budget may also find GlamForLess.com to be helpful.
You may want to check them out at http://www.glamforless.com/ and inform other readers about it.
Keep up the good work.
Best regards,
Lisa Bloom
