I'm so behind on my blogging but I just had to get these shots up from Laura and Pavel's wedding earlier this summer. They were married at the super cute Minoru Chapel in Richmond. We then headed to Queen Elizabeth Park to shoot some shots of the wedding party before heading to the Pacific Palisades Hotel for the reception. One of the many things Laura and Pavel did that was really cool and a salute to their heritage was in their menu choice. All the guests had the choice of 4 courses of either a Japanese or Russian Menu. Steph and I are still arguing over which was better.
Some detail shots taken at Laura's parents place.
A big group shot after the wedding. These are always a little hard to set up by the result if so worth it. Of course we shot a more formal one but I love how everyone looks so happy in this capture.
Love the shadow in this image it adds another element to an already cool shot.
This is another favourite from the day that breaks just about every photographic rule but really works. Love the purple flowers, great shapes and whimsical .
A romantic shot that works great in black and white.
Either Pavel is really strong or Laura is really light, maybe it's a bit of both cause he was picking her up all during the engagement and wedding shoots.
This shot just says love... Sweet cake. Another of the flowers. The rings. Probably my favourite image of the day, shot just before the reception in their suite at the hotel.A few more from the hotel.
Dial down the romance and kick up the fun quotient.
There speeches hit every emotion, funny, touching, respectful, loving and outrageous.
Then the party began.
Thanks again to Laura and Pavel.
