Natasha and Ian's wedding at Stanley Park.

Steph and I were lucky enough to do both the make-up and photography for our friends Natasha and Ian.  We had a blast capturing their special day and partying the night away.  This post veers away from the usual romantic shots to take in a little bit of the party.

One quick note before we start about a great little Vancouver gem.  Natasha and her girls got ready at the  Sylvia Hotel and I couldn't recommend the place more, we liked it so much we stayed the night.  It's got so much character and style that the big hotels lack and the view over English Bay is amazing.  The rates are reasonable and the room service was great.  Nothing better than eating eggs benny in bed overlooking the ocean.

Dad didn't like getting his picture taken so we shot the cuffs.

We had a Vancouver Trolley for the day, what a blast.  Natasha and the wedding coordinators from Imagine That Events were in touch by walkie talkie.  Every time Natasha finished a sentence we made her say "10-4" or "Roger, over and out".

The Stanley Park Pavilion was looking great, we had lots of tourists looking on.

and let your backbone slide..........Apparently Winston and Jonard have been busting these moves out at weddings since the early 90's.

These two used to be able to dance for hours like that in high school.

As you can see, it was a pretty tame crowd.

Shooter time boys.  Turn it up one more notch.

Polina and Jamal's wedding in Vancouver

Polina and Jamal had a intimate ceremony at Queen Elizabeth Park.  It was a small wedding with just parents and a few close friends but that didn't make it any less romantic.  Polina was radiant and it was so much fun to capture their special day.  We also worked with our favourite JP and the guy who married us, the one and only Clarence Ash.

Vivien and Michael's wedding in Vancouver.

Vivien and Michael had a beautiful ceremony at Queen's Park in New West.  After getting lots of fun shots with family and friends we headed to George Wainborn Park and Stanley Park for some great shots of the newly married couple.

A few nice detail shots. I love the white orchid contrasting with the bright blue shirt.

I had never shot a George Wainborn Park but I definitely will again, there is lots of strong architecture and amazing lines.

So the one request from Vivien and Michael was some swing pictures.  I love couples who have great pictures in mind.

Lacey and Matt's Wedding In Richmond

We had a great time shooting Lacey and Matt's wedding.  Lacey got ready with her girls at her parents house.  Her mom Irene helped plan every bit of the day which was amazing from start to finish.  They were married at the Minoru Chapel in Richmond.  We shot some wedding party shots at Minoru before heading into Steveston for more pictures and partying in the Limobus.  The reception was at the Richmond Inn and the party was rockin' all night long.

Right after we finished up at Minoru we jumped into a deluxe limobus and the party started right away.

Lacey moved to Minnesota right after the ceremony so I thought it was important to get lots of shots of her and her girls during the day.

Matt and his two bros and his three best buddies.  We stopped at the Buck and Ear for a little food and drink.

Let's just sat these boys from Minnesota knew how to party.  Matt's other brother actually thanked Canadian beer in his toast to the groom.

Maria and Brad in Granville Island

Maria came across my website and loved the romantic look of my work.  This is a lifestyle session where she wanted to capture the love that her and Brad share for each other.  We spent a beautiful evening strolling around Granville Island.  Granville Island has such amazingly vibrant colours and so many different textures to work with it is hard to not get an amazing shot.

This next set of images is my favourite of the day we had some amazing soft late afternoon sun glow.  Steph had to pull me away from this location I could have shot here for hours.
